Happy Graduation GabriellaSofia!

It happened... it finally happened, I graduated! And I absolutely can't believe it.

I actually missed my official graduation back in June because I went on my USA road trip but this nearly broke my poor mom's heart, so I got my butt in gear and decided to do graduation in December rather than missing it all together.

For those of you who have followed my page for quite some time, you will know that university became a real struggle for me towards the end as I just couldn't hack the pressure. It basically turned me into a miserable, nervous wreck because there were just so many people telling me that if I didn't do well I wouldn't get a good job or might disappoint my family that it almost made me ill with worry. Even during my last exam, I literally just thought to myself, 'Why am I even here???' and almost got up and left! Nonetheless, I pushed myself to stay and finish the exam and I now have a 2.1 in English Literature from the University of Birmingham. And I have the pictures to prove it...

*Look how lovely and red brick the buildings are! Got to love them!*

*In the marquee after graduation they were serving wine and not-just-any-mince-pies-but-Marks-and-Spencer's-mince-pies. Yum*

*Happy face!*

So it is the end of an era, and boy, am I glad? YES! I'm going to try my hardest to make 2013 MY YEAR, the year when I do things that I want to do, and not the things which I think I should because I'm scared my family will disown me if I don't!

How did you feel on your graduation day? Is there ANY WAY to make yourself not look obese when wearing one of these gowns? Would you rather go to graduation, or on a USA road trip?

Love and snuggles
*The Fresh Graduate*

  1. Massive congratulations! You should be so proud of yourself :) I cannot wait to graduate (I'm studying English as well). Knowing I've got to move back to London on Sunday with a dissertation and millions of essays and exams ahead of me in the next 4/5 months is literally making me want to be sick :( I used to enjoy uni but I really feel like the pressure is getting to me, and it just seems like no one else is feeling the same as I am! The girls I live with are doing different courses and I'm sure you'll understand the immense amount of work required for and English degree with the ENDLESS amount of reading - I just feel like my workload is so much heavier and I don't have time to do ANYTHING! Anyway, just gonna soldier on and get it done. It's a shame because I know I'll look back and miss these days of living with my friends, but at the moment I just want it to be over! x (didn't mean to unload on you! :p)
