GabriellaSofia's 2012 Holy Grail of Beauty... Part 1

Happy New Year everyone! I'm hoping you all celebrated with your friends and family and are super-excited about 2013, because I sure am. I don't quite know why... I just have a FEELING about this year.

Anyway, I wanted to do a post like this last year, but never got round to it, so here it is, my Beauty Holy Grail for 2012! In some categories I've also listed items which fell into my Bad Books in 2012 and some beauty products which I'm looking forward to in 2013. So sit back, relax, and let the good times roll.

Primer...

In First Place... I have to say that even though I've only ever had a sample size of it, Benefit's Porefessional makes my skin look so smooth and literally flawless!
Honourable Mention Goes To... I really like my L'Oreal Paris Studio Secrets Anti-Shine Mattifying Primer. It was especially brilliant when I was in the USA as it kept me looking shine-free no matter what the heat was!
In My Bad Books... I purchased the Guerlain L'Or Radiance Concentrate with Pure Gold back in the summer of 2011 and although it makes my skin look quite nice, I'm now having to face up to the fact that it really wasn't worth £42.50.
Must Buy In 2013... Having felt the texture of the Bourjois Flower Perfection Primer I think it is really similar to the Benefit Porefessional in terms of filling in pores and creating a flawless matte base for foundation. Plus, it is quite cheap at just £9.99 so I think I'll be buying this before I invest in a full-sized Porefessional.

Foundation...

In First Place... My Guerlain Lingerie de Peau foundation goes on like an absolute dream and stays put with the right amount of dewiness all day long. At £37 a pop, it isn't cheap but I think it is totally worth it!
Honourable Mention Goes To... I was so lucky to have found a Chanel Vitalumiere foundation in the lost property at my uni job. Ever since, it has been one of my favourite makeup possessions giving a perfect base.
In My Bad Books... Lancome's Teint Miracle are so hard to match to my skin tone and I really don't know why. I have tried nearly every colour on the counter and left with a sample of the closest. Once I got home though, I realized it is basically fluorescent orange on my skin. Weird colours.
Must Buy In 2013... I'm really looking forward to purchasing some Daniel Sandler foundations for my makeup artistry kit!

Powder...

In First Place... I discovered L'Oreal's True Match Powder in the USA in the summer of 2011 and I have never looked back! It only costs £8.19 and I think it is worth every penny. It even looks good over the top of my moisturiser and without foundation beneath.
Honourable Mention Goes To... Witch Anti-Blemish Pressed Powder gives a nice mattifying touch without suffocating your skin!

Concealer...

In First Place... Maybelline Superstay 24hr Concealer has been my favourite for about three years now. The coverage is brillaint and it only costs £6.19 too, so it definitely gets top marks!
In My Bad Books... Erase Paste by Benefit is a bit of a cult product in the beauty blogging world, but I just find it so cakey! Also, it can't be used on spots and is intended only for under-eye circles of which I have very few. Not a good investment in my opinion.

Highlighter...

In First Place... I have to say that Benefit's High Beam is one of the best highlighters I have ever tried. And I have tried the cheaper alternatives and have found them to be very average. That being said, I'm still not totally used to using highlighters in my regular makeup routine, so perhaps I'll discover one better in 2013...
Honourable Mention Goes To... I've been using Barry M's Shimmering Eye and Lip Crayon on my brow bone, cheek bones, cupid's bow, bridge of my nose and inner corners of my eyes and loving it! Shade SEC3 is the best.
Must Buy In 2013... I'm really keen to be a sun-kissed beauty after my India experience coming up in February so I'm excited to try Benefit's bronze-toned Sun Beam in 2013.

As you can see I have seperated my Beauty Awards into multiple posts, so stay tuned for Part 2 tomorrow! Can you recommend any products for me to try in 2013? Are you disappointed with any cult bloggers products like I am with Erase Paste? What are your favorite multi-use products, like Barry M's Shimmering Eye and Lip Crayon?

Love and snuggles
